Lillie has the distinction of having her senior portraits taken on literally the hottest day of the summer! I’m not even joking a little bit. There was a head advisory and it was absolutely roasting outside. Lillie (and the rest of us) powered through the session and it turned out gorgeous! You’d never know it was so miserable outside. Blotting sheets, ice cold water, papertowels, and an air conditioned car for changes were all life savers.
We started out the session at Libby Hill Park. I just love it up there on the hill. There are so many nooks and crannies around the neighborhood and it’s always easy to find really pretty light. This little spot down the stairs is my favorite place to start. The light coming through the back of the trees is so pretty and I love the graffiti covered cement wall as well that adds a little pop of something urban.
Lillie opted for 4 outfit outfit changes all together. She had two in Libby Hill and then two once we headed over to Shiplock Park. It may have been hot but the summer heat also brought the most beautiful summer light over by the train tressels as we ended her session. Scroll to the bottom to see those images!
We worked fast because it was so hot but got a lot of variety with two locations that were close together! When you’re planning your Richmond Senior Portraits keep in mind how far apart your locations are. The drive time can really cut into portrait time. You can still get a lot of variety with an outfit change and by just moving a block or two.
